But as we so often do, we’re starting things off in the Naked Newsroom. Now, Naked News will never offer investment advice… but our first story WILL feel pretty familiar to regular viewers! Thanks Alana! The value of a Bitcoin hit an all-time high on Monday, topping out at 123,000 dollars. Things have calmed down somewhat since then with it trading around 117K midday Tuesday. Still, this could be a big week for the cryptocurrency, as a number of bills in the U.S. House of Representatives are expected to give the crypto market clearer regulations… as well as institutional protections and respectability!

San Francisco obviously loves its tech, which is just one reason why the city itself is embracing A.I. Specifically, thirty thousand city workers will be using Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat to improve services. City Hall has noted that A.I. doing administrative work like drafting reports will give staff more time to deal with residents, and Mayor Daniel Lurie mentioned translation as another essential task that can be tackled by A.I. We’ll be watching!

And Meta has an uphill battle removing spam from social media, but it’s trying! In a recent blog post titled “Combating Unoriginal Content to Protect and Elevate Creators”, the Facebook and Instagram parent company said that so far this year, it had removed around TEN MILLION profiles impersonating large content producers. It also “took action” on five hundred thousand accounts engaged in “spammy behavior or fake engagement.” I know A.I. slop is everywhere… but as someone who MAKES original content, if you’re listening, Meta, don’t stop fighting!
