I’m Emily Pineda and I’d like to welcome you all to this July 4th edition of Naked News. It’s Independence Day in the U.S. with a long weekend ahead for many. So happy 249th birthday, America. We’ll be getting a little patriotic later with a “Red, White, and BOOBS” edition of Hollywood XPosed! Talk about fireworks! First up though, we’re heading to our Naked Newsroom where Frankie and Tia who are standing by with your first look at today’s headlines.

Thanks Emily! Before we dive into our first story today about smoking, I’d like to know if you’ve ever taken up the habit, Frankie? Well, the good news is that more and more people are quitting smoking these days. And much of that can be attributed to rules and regulations that many countries have enacted. Like in FRANCE for example, where it’s been cool to smoke for generations.

The country has taken some big step towards having a “tobacco-free generation” in the next decade! And it’s doing that by making it a LOT harder for people to light up and smoke! They just BANNED smoking in all outdoor areas children might be found. That includes sport venues, beaches, parks, and public gardens.

The ban is no joke, either! Fines start at a hundred dollars, and tourists won’t be let off the hook either. For the record, France has one of the world’s highest rates of smokers, at about thirty-five percent – well above the global average of seventeen percent!

In other news, NASA plans to begin streaming rocket launches and space walks on Netflix starting this summer. The space agency says the move will make its work in science and exploration even more accessible, and inspire a global audience.

NASA says that they’ve partnered with Netflix because they’re the world’s most popular streaming platform and will give their Space program invaluable worldwide exposure. Hard to argue with that!

And if you’re flying into LAX, you might want to check out the worlds first AI-powered smart store. Its called VenHub and it uses robotics to deliver what they say is a faster, safer, and fully automated shopping experience.

It’s basically a convenience store in a kiosk, selling items with zero human workers. You place your order and pay on an app, and are then given a QR code which is scanned at the store. The robot arms then pick and hand over your items.

The whole transaction takes about ninety seconds! And behind the scenes, VenHub’s A.I. covers just about all the roles of a manager, like tracking purchase patterns, adjusting stock, and predicting demand!

Between AI and robots, the world is going to hell, I tell ya!

It’ll certainly be interesting to see where we are with it all in a few years.
