And I’m Alana Blaire! Thanks for joining us today. Okay, Isabella, what’s your travel philosophy on long weekends? Do you go or do you stay? Well, this long weekend is going to be a busy one in the skies and on the road, and Tia joins us now to tell us what people can expect.

Alana, if you don’t like crowds, my advice to you is to stay home this weekend because the July 4th LONG weekend is one of the craziest times of the year to travel. I’ll take it from here ladies! Welcome to the Naked Newsroom!

It seems this July 4th, everyone wants to get away! AAA expects SEVENTY-TWO-POINT-TWO MILLION Americans to travel over fifty miles over the holiday period. And yeah, that’s both a record AND an increase over last year by one-point-seven million! Remember, folks: the vast majority of those travelers will be driving, so try to hit the roads EARLY!

Here’s something to NOT think about if you’re taking a vacation – the U.S. dollar just had its worst first-half decline in over FIFTY YEARS! Tariffs and economic uncertainty through the first six months of the year are to blame. And in that time the value of the dollar has dropped TEN-POINT-SEVEN percent! But if you want to be an optimist, some are saying the drop is on PURPOSE, as it should theoretically increase American exports!

Meanwhile, Jaguar’s pivot to becoming a fully electric, ultra-luxury brand has been a complete and total disaster! With its new EV lineup not yet released, and the four-door GT that will be its flagship model not due until late in the year, sales have PLUMMETED! All told, sales from January to April were down SEVENTY-FIVE percent in Europe relative to last year. And in April alone they only sold 49 vehicles there compared to almost 3000 last April. To be fair though, until those new EVs are available to BUY, we won’t truly know how well the rebrand went. Their commercials advertising the rebrand featuring men in skirts have been completely trashed online, so there’s THAT. I’ll be back with more headlines in a moment so stay right where you are.
