Synopsis
Kinda of sad seeing the last Nikkatsu Roman Porno.
This is a well lit office drama with consensual sex. Yes. That does happen in the Roman porno films.
Kyoko Hirota (Kÿoko) is your typical office worker who is looking for excitement in her life. She takes an opportunity to be someone else and meets a guy on a blind date. Things get complicated as he finds out she wasn’t who she said she was. But the chemistry is there. They really love each other and want to have ice play. It’s hot in Japan during the summer.
This was like Blue Lagoon where the female lead is wanting something different and finding empowerment in her sexuality. I love seeing that.
There’s something about the 1980s Roman Pornos compared to the 1970s. The look and style. It’s probably when directors are so dialed in, it’s easy to create one without putting too much effort to it.
It’s also refreshing watching these without subtitles and just take in the visual vibe of the film. At the same time, you can get what’s going on.
