Welcome to Naked News everyone. I’m Eila Adams, and it’s my pleasure today to welcome Sky Pierce back to the program! It’s great to have you back AND hosting with me today, so let’s get started with a very relevant question. How often do you keep up with the news? Where do you typically get your news from? Well, I don’t know that there’s a RIGHT way to get the news, but there IS a most POPULAR way, and it’s officially changed.

Thank you Sky! It’s a pleasure having her in the studio! Okay, it’s finally happened: the percentage of Americans getting their news through social media has overtaken typical TV news, news apps and websites for the first time. According to the 2025 Digital News Report, fifty-four percent of Americans used social media to get their news in the previous week. That’s TWICE what it had been in 2013. In the same time period, print dropped 33 percentage points, TV dropped 22 points, and news websites and apps dropped 21.

In other news, Kraft Heinz has announced that they will be removing all synthetic food coloring from their food products in America by the end of 2027! In the press release the company noted that the “vast majority” of its products use natural or no colors, and Kraft Mac & Cheese has been free of artificial coloring since 2016! STILL, with more federal and state bans coming – and one already existing in California – it’s clearly a good time to get ahead of things!

Unfortunately, things aren’t as rosy for the environment. I say that because the Environmental Protection Agency has just instructed staff overseeing the Midwest to stop enforcing regulations when they’re violated by fossil fuel companies! Its no surprise either, because with all the cuts to the Department of Justice’s environmental division, EPA sources say they’re unable to negotiate penalties or terms for fixing violations even if they were to enforce them.

The government is helping with our health, now they just need to help a bit more with the environment. I’m Alana Blaire! Don’t go away.
