Hello, everyone, and welcome to Naked News. I’m Alana Blaire!

And I’m Angel Banks. Okay, Alana, have you been paying attention to what’s happening in LA? Well, the Trump administration isn’t taking any chances, EVEN with a much more subdued crowd in the streets.

Some might even say they’re adding fuel to the fire. Frankie’s in the Naked Newsroom to explain.

Against the wishes of California’s governor AND LA’s mayor, the Trump Administration is sending in more troops to the area. 700 Marines have now been deployed and an additional 2000 National Guard. This is ON TOP of the 2000 National Guard sent into LA on Sunday. Unlike the violence that happened over the weekend, protesters have remained relatively calm so far this week. It seems like this is ultimately a power struggle between Donald Trump and Governor Gavin Newsom. Trump called for Newsom to be arrested, and Newsom called Trump deranged and unhinged, and is also suing him for calling in the troops. To be continued!

And not surprisingly, in solidarity with LA’s protestors, anti-ICE demonstrations have spread across the U.S. Rallies have taken place in cities including New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and elsewhere. They’re protesting ICE and the way they’re conducting raids, and also organizing a nationwide demonstration for Saturday.

And in other news, Health Secretary RFK Jr. just ousted EVERY MEMBER of a scientific committee that advises the CDC on vaccines! Though it’s not considered a partisan board, all seventeen members of the Committee WERE appointed during the Biden administration. Apparently, they are going to be replaced with people more aligned with Kennedy’s views.
