Hello, and welcome to Naked News everyone! I’m Madison Banes and let me tell you, we have a FANTASTIC show lined up for you today. Frankie’s giving you peeks at the hottest Tinseltown T&A, and Tia’s Turning It Up with the latest from the world of music. First up though, let’s say hello to Angel Banks, who’s standing in our Naked Newsroom with your first look at the headlines. Whatcha got for us, Angel?
A question, Maddy- When it comes to streaming TV shows, what platform would you think is the most popular?
For TV? Definitely Netflix!
A solid guess, but nope! It’s actually one you might not even THINK OF as a TV streamer! Let me explain!
Neilsen’s latest “Gauge” report is out and YouTube is winning the TV streaming wars! In July, it had thirteen-point-four percent of ALL television viewing! Even more impressive? That’s JUST the viewing ON televisions and doesn’t include all the people who watch on their mobile devices! It’s no flash in the pan, either. YouTube has been in the number one spot for six straight months, and is steadily GAINING viewership!
In other news, this year marks the seventieth anniversary of Guinness World Records, and the organization has challenged people with seventy UNCLAIMED records! They include “most high fives in thirty seconds”, “longest air guitar marathon”, “fastest time to make a burrito”, and so on. Oddly, “Longest-running nude news program” isn’t on there, so looks like we’ll have to write even MORE letters!
England plans to BAN young people from buying energy drinks! The proposed law would apply to under-sixteens, and ANYWHERE energy drinks are sold, including restaurants, vending machines, and online. Currently, about a third of the U.K.’s youngsters consume the caffeine-packed beverages, which can trigger headaches, sleep issues, concentration trouble, and potentially dangerous heart rates.
And a new survey says holiday spending will drop this year! According to consulting firm PwC consumers planned to spend an average of fifteen hundred and fifty-two dollars on holiday travel, entertainment, and gifts this year. That’s down five percent from last year. But Gen Z’s are REALLY tightening their belts, and plan to spend TWENTY-THREE percent less! As for why, Maddy? Blame economic uncertainty, a higher cost of living, and Gen Z’s love of lower-priced DUPES!
Sounds about right to me! With all the economic craziness, saving money seems ESPECIALLY smart these days! Thank you, Angel. All right, Words From Our Anchors is coming your way in a few minutes, but not before we send you over to the amazing Tia Larose. She’s next, Turning It Up with the latest from the world of Music.
